Hey Friends!
Welcome to chrisrhoades.com, my home on the web! My name is Chris and i'm an entrepreneur, engineer by trade, hopeful optimist, and an entry level bio-hacker as I try to naturally treat my autoimmune disease, ulcerative colitis.
Life has a funny way of testing us and I am here to share my struggles, successes, and the journey in-between to hopefully make yours a little brighter!
What's the tea?
Hi there & welcome to my page! My name is Chris Rhoades. I am an overly positive, anxiety prone, stressed-out-but-still-having-fun (sometimes) hobby loving entrepreneur married to the love of my life trying to find my way through the chaos of the day to day grind. Some days I'm vibing, some days I want to go off grid and escape the world.
I have spent the last 6+ years building a brewery, restaurant and most recently a cafe brand with my brother-in-law and father as my business partners. Check out Farm by Beer Tree Brew (est. 2017), Factory by Beer Tree Brew (est. 2020), Downtown by Chef Jay Pisculli (est. 2024) and Batch Coffee (est. 2022).
In April of 2021 my life hit a little speed bump. I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis (UC). My ability to handle stress, anxiety, and all the other feelings that come with life ceased to exist without the onset of aggressive symptoms. Since then I have been constantly adapting my diet, lifestyle, environment, and any other variables I can control in an attempt to get myself feeling wholesome again, and do so as naturally as possible. I've failed so many times I must be getting close! Some progress has been made but there is so much more to go.
I love reading, cooking, all snow sports, anything water-sport related, hiking, biking, running, hockey, lacrosse, early mornings at coffee shops, building things, taking things apart, writing, creativity, and a hodge-podge of other activities, in no particular order.
And finally, I am really thankful to have you here. If you want to follow along, let's do it together. Subscribe down below to stay up to date on all the things!
Cheers,
Chris
